Sweepstakes Casinos Reopen in Georgia and Alabama After Legal Shifts

Several major sweepstakes casino operators, including Blazesoft’s Zula Casino and Fortune Coins, along with B-Two’s McLuck, Hello Millions, SpinBlitz, and PlayFame, have resumed operations in Georgia and Alabama. The decision follows a wave of legal and procedural changes that have eased restrictions in two states where access had been cut off for months.

These platforms, popular for their sweepstakes-style gaming model, had previously withdrawn amid mounting legal uncertainty.

Now, with certain lawsuits dismissed and regulatory pressure easing, operators appear more confident in their ability to serve these markets again. For players, this means restored access to coin purchases, prize redemptions, and a wide range of sweepstakes slot and table games.

Why This Matters to Players and the Industry

Sweepstakes casinos operate on a dual-currency system, Gold Coins for casual play and Sweeps Coins for entries that can be redeemed for cash prizes. This structure allows them to operate legally in most U.S. states without a traditional gambling license. However, both Georgia and Alabama had been considered higher-risk markets due to lawsuits and unclear legal interpretations.

A recent shift came after a Georgia court dismissed a prominent lawsuit against VGW, the operator of Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Slots, and Global Poker, on jurisdictional grounds. While the ruling didn’t address the legality of sweepstakes gaming, it eased some of the legal uncertainty. This has prompted other operators, such as Blazesoft and B-Two, to re-enter these markets with greater confidence.

Platform Updates and Expansions

On August 7, B-Two Operations updated its terms and conditions, removing Georgia and Alabama from the restricted lists for McLuck, Hello Millions, SpinBlitz, and PlayFame. This move allows players in both states to buy coins, redeem prizes, and join the sweepstakes games without workarounds.

Blazesoft, meanwhile, reinstated Georgia access for both Zula Casino and Fortune Coins. Both platforms have maintained their standard offerings, including themed slots, jackpots, and ongoing promotions, ensuring returning players can pick up where they left off.

The Bigger Picture

While these changes represent a win for players in Georgia and Alabama, not all platforms have returned at once. Some operators are still taking a more cautious approach, likely assessing whether the current legal climate will remain favorable. This staggered return hints at how carefully sweepstakes casinos navigate state-level rules.

Industry watchers note that this is one of the first times in 2025 that multiple operators have re-entered previously restricted states. It could encourage other platforms to follow suit, provided no new legal challenges emerge.

Player Access and Platform Adjustments

Players in Alabama and Georgia can also once again register, purchase coins, and redeem prizes on McLuck, Hello Millions, SpinBlitz, and PlayFame. This reinstatement restores full sweepstakes functionality in both states, including participation in promotional events and access to the full game libraries.

Transactions from these locations are being processed again, and gameplay appears to be operating normally. The companies have not issued formal press releases about the change, and current promotions continue without significant alteration.

What This Means for You

If you’re in Georgia or Alabama, you now have more choices when it comes to sweepstakes gaming. Zula Casino, Fortune Coins, McLuck, Hello Millions, SpinBlitz, and PlayFame are live again, offering familiar game libraries and promotions. Before jumping in, it’s wise to:

  • Check the platform’s current terms and conditions for your state.
  • Keep an eye on any updates from the operator regarding regional access.
  • Track ongoing promotions, as returning players may see special reactivation offers.

For the industry, this is a sign that operators are willing to return to contested markets when the legal footing improves, something affiliates, marketers, and competitors will be watching closely.

Looking Ahead

While legal interpretations can still shift, the recent reopenings show that sweepstakes casinos are willing to re-engage when conditions improve. For now, players in Georgia and Alabama can once again enjoy the full range of games on these platforms, but both users and operators will be keeping an eye on any future regulatory changes that could affect access.
